                        Ulakkai Aruvi is a wonderful falls on Pazhayar, near its birthplace. It is so named as it looks like a wooden utensil fit as a fiddle of hour glass. Left Keeripara in our WagonR with Senthil, a domain chief based at Keeripara, who is extremely acquainted with the part. Hit Thadikarakonam and took left for Azhagiapandiapuram along SH 45 of Tamil Nadu. SPECIALTY IN ULLAKKAI ARUVI:

                      Ulakkai Aruvi is a natural waterfall located  in Azhagiapandipuram town. Water is accessible in this water fall even in the summer season. Numerous vacationers come here for showering and to appreciate the nature. The pathway to this waterfall lies in the Reserve Forest. So you get the exceptionally immaculate air and the spot is pin drop quiet.It is located at a distance of 40 Km from Kanyakumari. Ullakaruvi falls is around 35 km from Kanyakumari town and around 17 km 

from Nagercoil town, close Azhakiyapandiapuram town. The falls is up in the center of woods slopes  which can be achieved just by foot from the base of the slopes. A hour's trek from the base of the slopes is through rough, forested region, which is exciting in itself. (On a crisp morning, one can see the waterfalls from the base of the slopes through stripped eye, or far and away superior through binoculars/zoom lens). It is a lovely waterfall and it draws in extensive number of voyagers. 

In Tamil "Ullakarvi" truly signifies 'Ullakai + Aruvi' 'all inclusive falls'. Ullakai is an apparatus which utilized for expelling the skin from the crude rice. The name of the fall is 

"Ullakai" in light of the fact that the water will fall on our head like 'Ullakai'.Likewise in the top locale of the Rock there is a spot where the water falls on a wooden bar which is inside a round rock. It would appear that a 'Ullakai'. Along these lines the waterfall got its name.There are two falls. They are the lower falls and the higher falls. The water is essentially spring water, from the slopes close-by. The lower part of the waterfalls and the spot one spans after the trek. This is a decent excursion spot. The perspective from this spot of the greenery underneath the slopes is invigorating. A cool shower here can unwind sooth our heart. Mathoor Hanging Bridge

                 
       Mathoor Hanging Bridge is an Aqueduct in Southern India, in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu state   The Mathoor Hanging Trough is the tallest as well as the longest trough bridge in Asia, having a height of 115 feet and a length of one Kilometer. Constructed in 1966, this bridge has became a place of tourist importance. The bridge has been constructed at Mathoor across the river Parazhiyar at a cost of Rs. 12.90/- lakhs and the trough canal on the bridge carries water for irrigation from one side of a hill to the other side of a hill. The trough has a height of 7 feet with a width of 7feet six inches45. The canal is being shouldered by 29 huge pillars. The district administration has created tourism infrastructure facilities over here. It is 60 km from Kanyakumari46 .

ARCHITECHTURE

     The Aqueduct is built across the Pahrali river, a small river that originates in the Mahendragiri Hills of the Western Ghats. Mathur Aqueduct itself carries water of the Pattanamkal canal for irrigation over the Pahrali river, from one hill to another, for a distance of close to one kilometer. This Aqueduct is necessitated due to the undulating land terrain of the area, which is also adjacent to the hills of the Western Ghats.

     Mathur Aqueduct is a concrete structure held up by 28 huge pillars, the maximum height of the pillars reaching 115 ft. The trough structure is 7 ft in height, with a width of 7.5 ft. The trough is partly covered on top with concrete slabs, allowing people to walk on the bridge and also see the water going through the trough. Some of the pillars are set in rocks of the Pahrali river, though some of the pillars are set in hills on either side.

     Road access allows one to drive in to one side of the Aqueduct (up to one end), while it is also possible to drive into the foot of the Aqueduct (the level where the Pahrali flows) on the opposite side. There is also a huge flight of stairs (made in recent times) that allows one to climb from the level of the Pahrali river to the trough.
Irrigation Water flows through the trough for a major part of the year, except in the summer (from February to May).

THIRUVALLUVAR  STATUE

                    

                         Thiruvalluvar is the godlike artist of Tamil Nadu and has given to the world Thirukkural. The commemoration statue of Thiruvalluvar is in Kanyakumari. The platform of the statue is of 38 feet stature and the statue over it is 95 feet tall with a stupendous aggregate of 133 feet for the whole figure. The 3 level platform known as Atharapeedam is encompassed by a creative Mandapa known as Alankara Mandapam with 38 feet stature. Encompassing the Alankara Mandapa stand 10 elephant statues meaning 8 headings with earth and space down. The father of Sri. Rama, the legend of Ramayana was called Dasaratha as he could charioteer in ten bearings.To help the vacationers to venerate the heavenly feet of Thiruvalluvar 140 stages are built inside the Mandapa. The platform with a tallness of 38 feet speaks to the 38 sections in the Book of Aram in Thirukural and the statue of 95 feet on the platform speaks to the aggregate parts in Porul (70 sections) and Inbam (25 Chapters). In this manner the statue typically, and imaginatively connotes that the subject of Porul and Inbam depend on Aram.
